The great thing about online communities is that you can focus in on a certain environment that fits into what you are looking for. You can discuss lots of things about the environment that you represent. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

You can provide people with interesting and entertaining articles and possibly a catalog of your products. If people like your newsletter they may tell other people. These other people will then go to your site and sign up.

3) Trading URLs with other sites.
No cost involved. You just need to contact other webmasters and mutually agree to show each other's links. You are leveraging traffic from the other site. They go to the other site and possibly see your link and come to your site.
