Learning Basic Spanish Words

Just like with any other language, when learning Spanish the first thing you need to do is learn some of the basics. Once you have a few basic words and phrases down, you will begin to understand how they work in sentences, and before you know it, you are speaking Spanish!

Section 1-Generally Useful Words
Excuse me-Con Permiso
Please- Por Favor
Thanks- Gracias
Thanks Very Much- Muchos Gracias
Could You Please Help Me? - Podria Ayudarme
You're Welcome- De Nada
Sorry- Disculpe

Section 2-
Everyday Usage Words
How much do I owe you? - Cuanto le debo
Do you speak English? - Habla Usted Ingles?
I don't speak Spanish- No hablo Espanol
Yes – Se (Si)
No – (No)
Could you repeat that please? - Podria repetirlo, por favor?
What time is it? - Que hora es?
I speak very little Spanish – Habla muy poco Espanol
I don't understand- No entiendo

Section 3-
Greetings/Goodbyes
Good Morning- Buenos Dias
Good Afternoon- Buenas Tardes
Good Evening- Buenos Noches
Hello- Hola
Goodbye- Adios
See You Later- Hasta Luego

You've probably noticed by now that there are more than a few similarities between Spanish and English, and the more you study the easier it will become. You can get surprisingly far in Spanish with just the phrases mentioned above-how far will they get you?
