Back Noosa holidays by Tamara Ford It was in the late 1980's, and I was 12. I can remember the earthy scent of eucalyptus, and feel the warm sunlit paths of the Noosa National Park as I walked around to Alexandria Bay. The memory of cooling down by sliding into the deep blue water just before the Devil's Kitchen headland and feasting on natural oysters has become a catalyst behind a driving force to return to Noosa every year since. Back then, the village of Noosa Heads, a five-minute walk from the entrance to the National Park, was a jumble of ordinary vacation units, a campground and shops. It was no different to many other Australian coastal towns. Noosa was always going to be distinguished by its remarkable setting. The holiday accommodation strip is almost completely surrounded by water. Noosa fishing is very good for the outdoor types, whilst those who prefer to wine and dine the day away can find world class restaurants throughout Hastings Street. If you need to be entertained you will fast learn that a different Noosa event of some kind is hosted by the town every other weekend. In the early days, I am told the only way of reaching the main beach was by riverboat along the stunning Noosa River. Noosa beach is north facing, protected from southerly winds by a rocky headland with scatterings of rain forest throughout. The sun filled enclave known as Hastings Street has always been a buzz of happy tourists with an air of an almost sublime, tropical relaxation center where interesting and successful people take time out from their busy lives. Once such interesting person who became successfull after re-setting his life focus after a holiday to Noosa, is a guy called Nomis Drof. I urge you to visit a chapter in his life outlining how a visit to Noosa inspired him to build his travel website that lists 120,000 Hotels, Motels & Apartments throughout the world. Read how Noosa changed Nomis's life in his blog about Bargain Holidays. TF www.BringTheKidsNoosa.com.au Author's Biography: Hello world. This is my bio.
