Back Making your blog or adult blog as engaging as possible with video by Leo R Some things can only be said with video. Or i guess I should write that some things can only be shown with video. Well, whichever it is there's no doubt that video is the Internet darling of today. The falling costs of ever cheaper video cameras has democratized video making for the masses and fueled online grassroots video. You can see the evidence everywhere on sites like YouTube.com, Metacafe.com and Dailymotion.com that have hundreds of thousands of user submitted videos. So what does this mean to my blog or website? What that means for bloggers is that you can utilize those videos to drive traffic to your blog. Is this an underhanded technique? Not at all. As long as the videos are not infringing on any copyrights you can post the videos as long as you give proper credit to the creator. But when in doubt, always ask. In most cases the creators want the exposure and viral aspect of the “blogged about” video and if they didn't they would have made the video “private” to only share with friends. A feature that most video sharing sites allow. Seeing it in action Let's show how this works. For this example we'll say that your blog is about marketing. Any marketing pro knows that one of many big names in the marketing world is Seth Godin. If we do a Google search for “video seth godin” the top result is a Google video of Seth Godin's speech at the Google offices. Great except for one thing. Google only allows “select” videos to be embedded and this isn't one of them. Further down we find a clip on YouTube of Mr. Godin speaking at the Greater Talent Speakers Bureau. Perfect! We can embed this clip into a blog post and write a post about it. Whether you agree or disagree with Mr. Godin doesn't matter. What matters is that you write about it and explain your point of view to your audience. With a little knowledge of SEO (which is beyond the scope of this article) you can have your blog post appear for searches on Seth Godin or any other topic you blog deals with. What if I have An Adult Blog? The concepts are the same no matter what your subject. Do you have a blog that talks about porn industry news? Find an engaging clip of a major porn star to blog about. Use a top star like Jenna Jameson for example. When those Jenna fans do a search for Jenna Jameson they might find your blog post! Never underestimate the tenacity of the rabid fan. But I Have My Own Video Content! If you have exclusive content that you have shot then it's not much work to upload it to a hosting site. Although the process is different for every site, most sites are very user friendly and you can have your content uploaded in a matter of minutes. The best part is that once it is uploaded and the content goes “live”, your embedded clip will be using the hosting provider's bandwidth at no cost to you! YouTube.com and Dailymotion.com are both great places to start with if your content is general in nature. Each has a streamlined submittal process and approves videos very quickly. All videos are embeddable to any blog and Dailymotion.com allows you to choose between 3 sizes with very good quality . For adult content the best of the bunch seems to be Pacoporn.com. The site is very easy to navigate, the search function works well and the site is speedy. Of course, all the clips are embeddable and the staff at Pacoporn approves videos almost immediately so you don't have the long wait for approval that you get on other adult sharing sites. Good writing and content that draws people to your blog is blogging 101. Using videos to enforce your points or help explain concepts is an easy but underutilized technique that will engage your audience, start discussions and hopefully turn them into regulars.
